Many of the 20-somethings that responded said they enjoying dining at places such as Monicals, Ming’s, Steak and Fries and Old Chicago. Others said they enjoy spending their leisure time at Laura Bradley Park, Northwoods Mall, Shoppes of Grand Prairie, the bowling alley, or catching a movie at the Rave. Here is why other 20-somethings think the Central Illinois area is cool:
“I like the Riverfront because it reminds me a lot of Chicago, where I’m originally from. It has good places to eat and various festivals and events. There’s always something going on down there.”
“I like the parts of Peoria that have character… the Riverfront…and I wish Main Street strip from downtown to Bradley was more “hoppin”…like a place where 20-somethings could hang out.”
“I like Grand Prairie a lot, as well as the Riverfront! It’s just nice to have places where we can be outside.”
“I like the movie theaters and there are a lot of great stores to shop at!”
“Peoria has all of the big city amenities without all of the traffic! I like to shop at Grand Prairie and go to the movies…and bowl!”
“I enjoy a variety of choices for night life in a close proximity (Main Street is only so long.) The Riverplex is pretty awesome and the Riverfront is pretty busy in the summer.
“I like that there is always something to do. Whether it is shopping, eating, going to see a movie or just walking along the Riverfront or Bradley’s campus. There are always options!”
“This area is full of opportunities. It is a great place for recent college graduates to find a job in their field.”
